Use Dog Rocks all year round
Dog Rocks are best used 365 days of the year, but to explain why, first we will look into how they work. Dog Rocks when placed in your dog’s water bowl will stop your dog’s urine from leaving brown patches on your lawn. They do this by lowering the amount of nitrate in your dog’s drinking water which lowers the nitrate levels in your dog’s urine. An overload of nitrates in urine will cause lawns to burn.Dog Rocks are the 100% natural lawn care solution to dog urine burn marks.
Dog Rocks provide a stable matrix and a micro-porous medium in which active components are able to act as a water purifying agent through ion exchange. So when placed in water, Dog Rocks will help purify the water by removing some nitrates, ammonia and harmful trace elements thereby giving your dog a cleaner source of water and lowering the amount of nitrates found in their diet. This in turn lowers the amount that is expelled in their urine. It’s the nitrate in the dog’s urine which is what causes the burn patches on your lawn.
Although you will get a diluted effect or nitrate burn in the colder winter months, caused by the ground being wet, meaning the urine is diluted slightly by rain/ground water, you will still get a burn patch on your lawn. These winter burn patches will be less obvious than in the dryer summer months, but your grass will still be damaged.
In order to maintain your lawn, and make sure that it is looking as good as possible for when you want to sit out in the garden in the summer it is important to continue to use Dog Rocks all year round. It’s also easier to maintain a healthy lawn, than to fix a patchy dead one!
Dog Rocks should be placed in your dog’s water bowl, and will need replacing every 2 months. So you will need 6 packs to last you a whole year. A small price to pay for a lush green lawn you can enjoy sitting in and looking at. Simply place the whole bag of rocks in your dog’s water bowl and continue to top up the water around the rocks. The rocks need to sit in the water for around 5 hours before your dog drinks the water, to give them time to filter the water. So it’s best to top up at night time, just before bed. If your dog doesn’t like the rocks in the water bowl, or removes them then you can use a jug with the rocks in to top up your dog’s water bowl.
