Our #EcoPledge

By admin / Blog / No Comments / November 17, 2020

At Podium Pet Products we are dedicated to leaving the planet in a better safe, we always stand by less packaging = fewer plastics.

At a glance…

Our #EcoPledge:

· Limit packaging to only that which is necessary, less packaging = fewer plastics – working towards zero throw-away plastics as we continue to expand. Currently we are completely recyclable, with 95% of packaging already plastic free.

· Encouraging our customers to not only recycle but repurpose containers too to avoid a second process.

· Remain affordable to allow all consumers access to eco-friendly, innovative pet products without effecting the quality – MIT/paraben free, 100% natural ingredients and tested on humans, always. If it’s not good enough for us, then it’s not good enough for our pets.

· Continuing to develop new product lines with our mission statement at the core – supplying natural and sustainable products for pets and their parents.

A little more detail from us…

– Our suppliers…

Podium Pet Products works with suppliers that align with our mission statement; each has aims to achieve carbon neutrality, avoid all unnecessary plastics, and are committed to ethical trading. Before building a new relationship, we carefully research and get to know the people behind the company. Many of our suppliers have been established for years and continue to stay within the family where they first began. Over our fifteen years working in the pet industry, we have seen these companies grow with us, but staying true to their origins much like ourselves.

– Our products…

Our team are always creating new ideas to ensure we can offer a truly eco-friendly product range. With Be:Loved still early in its release we have a variety of ideas for the future, especially to benefit those making repeat orders allowing them to reuse plastic trigger sprays and stoppers. We hope by 2022 to have released refill spray bottles and oils alongside our new creations currently underway.

Our containers are ideal for upcycling or repurposing – after using the last of your balm, carry around pup treats in the tin. Use the oil bottle for travel toiletries, the spray bottle for a DIY cleaner.

We are proud to say Dog Rocks has been plastic free since coming to market over ten years ago, our packaging is 100% recyclable – the rocks themselves are sustainably mined and completely natural. After reaching the 2-month saturation point in a dog’s water bowl they can also be utilised again. Fertilise trees or shrubs by placing the rocks by the roots, use them as decoration or to conduct heat on a BBQ.

– Our team…

In our office we proactively recycle, reuse ingredient packaging for trade orders, and try to avoid excess waste – encouraging any of our suppliers we see using unnecessary plastics to limit this in the future. All our computers use Ecosia as their search tool which plants a tree for every 45 searches, and we use plastic-free office and kitchen supplies. Recently, we have also introduced monthly ‘green initiatives’ to challenge our team at work, and at home too.

Our founder, Carina Evans, donates a portion of her own income to charity each year. The Gurkha Welfare Trust and Tiger Mountain Tharu Fund which respectively support Gurkha veterans and support some of the poorest school children with education and equipment.

– Our customers…

We want to see your #EcoPledge – every month we share new suggestions on our social media and blog, but we also want to see your own ideas on upcycling and repurposing too. Tag us in your photos at @podiumpetproducts, @dogrockshq or @belovedpetz for the chance to feature.
