A Dog’s New Year Resolutions
Joining the gym, pursuing a new hobby, visiting family, all sound like your generic New Year Resolutions, right? But have you ever thought about what your dog’s New Year resolutions would be if they had them? (and who knows, they may well do!)
Here are our top New Year resolution ideas for your dog:
Resolution #1: I will clean up after my owners. Everything they drop, be it food, litter or socks, I promise I will be there to eat it as quick as possible!
Resolution #2: I will chew my food and exercise more. The ‘puppy fat’ excuse is not working anymore, nor do my owners believe I’m big boned!
Resolution #3: Even though the sofa is comfy, especially in the winter, I promise to take my owners on regular walks several times a week, and I’ll even let them play their favourite game of fetch.
Resolution #4: I will chew less furniture…although I’m not sure when you bought such delicious furniture in the first place!
Resolution #5: I will say hello to dogs and humans in more appropriate ways. A paw shake or a lick might be more welcome than the normal bum sniff.
Resolution #6: I promise keep biting and growling at vets to a minimum. I know they are trying to help, and I also know my owners love me lots and want to keep me healthy. I cannot speak for the cat though!
Resolution #7: I will continue to guard the house from anyone who comes to the door, especially the postman. I will also open all the letters he delivers for my owner.
Resolution #8: I’ll take my owners back to training school. They need to learn to give me treats when I ‘sit’, ‘lie’ and ‘give paw’.
Resolution #9: I promise to spend more time with the family, even the cat, and less time digging in the garden.
Resolution #10: I will tolerate the outfits and homemade bandanas my owner makes me wear. I will even try to smile when they take photos of me before showing them to all their friends.
